## The starting point

Every class creates an essential task: knowing who attended and keeping that history current. Mathias wanted a reliable way to do it without interrupting teaching, relying on separate lists, or personally supervising every record. His professional trip to Miami ultimately put that system to the test.

## The implementation

Kiosk mode turned check-in into a self-service action for students. Every attendance record was stored in MatGoat, creating one source of information that Mathias could review during the normal working day and while away.
