# Receipts, Stripe invoices and payment exports

## Choose the document you need

MatGoat brings together manually recorded payments and Stripe collections, but their documents serve different purposes. Before downloading or sharing information, identify the transaction, student, period and who collected the payment.

A manual payment receipt confirms a recorded collection. A Stripe invoice or receipt comes from an online transaction. An export gathers data for review outside the application. Downloading a receipt as a PDF does not automatically make it a tax invoice.

## Export grid payments

1.  Open **Student Billing** and select payments
2.  Select the period and filters to include
3.  Open payment export
4.  Choose Excel or CSV
5.  When offered the choice, decide whether to include manual payments
6.  Download the file and check that its scope matches your query

Filters for students, plans, groups or methods can reduce the exported records. A saved view can also apply filters when you enter the page. Review them before concluding that a collection is missing from the file.

An export reflects the selected records; it does not itself prove that money reached a bank account. Review Stripe payouts in their own section, whose dates relate to bank deposits rather than necessarily to the month covered by a fee.

## Consult the change history

Administrators can open the payment audit log from the control page. Use it to investigate modifications and understand why a record changed. The date of a correction should not be confused with the original payment date.

If you find an error, correct it through the relevant transaction and export the data again. Changing a cell in a downloaded file does not update the information stored in MatGoat.

## Configure manual receipts

Under **Settings > Payment options**, an administrator can review manual payment confirmation emails and the option to attach a PDF receipt. These settings control documents generated through payment registration.

Check that the student or intended recipient has valid contact details. Enabling a setting now does not mean every historical document has been resent. If a receipt needs correcting, first review the payment record from which it was generated.

## Stripe documents and exports

Students can consult their payment history and open available Stripe documents. Administrators use the connected Stripe dashboard to inspect the online transaction. The plans page can also offer a tax export for supported reporting periods.

Specific tax integrations depend on the academy’s configuration. Confirm your situation with support before relying on those functions for a particular tax process. Keep the original transaction and its document together when reconciling exported information.
