# Control who can view your content

Content access combines plan conditions, academy settings and folders open to members. Configure these rules before sharing your library; a student's belt does not grant or remove access on

Content access combines plan conditions, academy settings and folders open to members. Configure these rules before sharing your library; a student’s belt does not grant or remove access on its own.

## Define access through a plan

As an administrator, open **Plans** under **Student Billing** and edit the plan. Its content section lets you disable access, allow the entire library or choose specific folders. If there is no material yet, add an initial collection to make the selection controls available.

1.  Enable content access if it is included in the plan
2.  Choose the entire library or the specific folders that apply
3.  Check the subfolders included beneath each selected folder
4.  Save the plan and check the result with a student assigned to it

Selecting a folder includes its descendants. A file outside every collection is only shown to people with access to the entire library. Keep each resource for a restricted course inside its relevant folder.

When a student has several plans granting access, their permitted folders are combined; a plan with complete access opens the whole library. One-time plans stop granting access when their period ends. Family coverage can also determine access for a child who has no assignment of their own.

## Configure access without a plan

Under **Payment options**, review **Allow media access by default**. This option controls general access when no assignment determines it and no applicable family coverage exists.

Do not use this setting to override a restriction in an assigned plan. If the plan excludes content, enabling default access does not turn it into a plan with library access. Check the student’s actual assignment first.

There is a separate case during initial setup: if the academy has no active, visible, non-gift plan, the library is available to its members. Add and configure your plans before treating the library as exclusive to particular students.

## Open a folder to members

Edit the collection and enable **Visible to all students** to share it with any member of the academy, regardless of their plan. Its subfolders are included as well. This is useful for rules, schedule explanations or shared information.

This option does not publish the folder on the internet: academy membership is still required. It does not publish drafts either. An unpublished page remains hidden from students even inside an open folder.

MatGoat’s restriction controls access through its library. If you add a YouTube link, check the video’s privacy on that service too; a restricted folder does not change an external link’s settings.

## Review teacher permissions

Teachers and administrators can view the library. Adding, editing, ordering or deleting content requires the corresponding management permission, configured separately for each teacher. Before announcing a course, check one folder with an authorized student and another with a student who does not have that plan.
