I'm Jose, a software engineer with over 15 years of experience and a BJJ practitioner (blue belt). I founded MatGoat because I saw firsthand the challenges martial arts instructors face when managing their academies.
I started training at Cima Jiu Jitsu in 2021 and, talking with my instructor, I realized we could improve how attendance, payments, and student communication were handled. That's how MatGoat was born.
My goal is for every instructor to spend their time teaching, not on administrative tasks. Together with Miriam, we've built a simple yet powerful tool that real academies use every day.
