Open the academy’s codes

As an administrator, open Student Billing > Plans > Discount codes. This tab depends on Stripe configuration. If it is missing, first review the online payment account and any outstanding requirements.

Codes are managed in the academy’s Stripe account. The list reads that account, so a connection problem can prevent it from loading even though the codes still exist. If an error appears, retry before creating another promotion with the same name.

Create a discount

  1. Select New discount code
  2. Enter a code using letters and numbers, without spaces or accents
  3. Choose a percentage or fixed amount and enter its value
  4. For a fixed amount, check that the currency matches the plan
  5. Choose whether it applies to the first payment, several months or every payment
  6. Add an optional redemption limit and expiry date before saving

A percentage cannot exceed 100%. A redemption limit is shared across all students using that code; it is not a separate allowance per student. Discount duration and code expiry are different: duration controls which charges receive the discount, while expiry controls how long the code remains available for a new redemption.

Show students where to enter it

Share the code with the people you want to offer it to. For a compatible purchase, the student enters the code in Stripe before confirming and checks the updated total. Students do not see the administrative list of codes in their accounts.

In the app, I have a discount code opens the web payment flow where applicable. The native payment sheet does not contain that field. If the flow only saves a card and charges nothing today, there is no immediate amount for the code to discount.

Codes work with compatible plan, day-pass and voucher purchases through Stripe Checkout. They do not reduce payments recorded manually. Do not offer a code as valid for event tickets or annual fees, which use different payment flows.

Review usage and withdraw a promotion

Each card shows the discount, duration, uses and expiry. Codes created directly in Stripe may carry additional restrictions; check those in Stripe before sharing them. The usage count does not replace a detailed review of which students received a discount.

Deactivation prevents new redemptions while preserving discounts already applied to subscriptions. You can then remove an inactive code from the list. Do not promise that this automatically restores the standard price for students who have already used it.

Before announcing a campaign, review duration, currency and limits alongside Enable online payments with Stripe and track your payouts, and confirm that students see the intended amount before paying.
